I don't have a formula. I have a library of about 200,000 tracks and eleven years of reading rooms. Some receptions want Norah Jones during dinner and Beyoncé at 10pm. Some want lo-fi jazz all the way through. Some couples don't know what they want until I play the first song and watch their faces.
I do pre-wedding consultations that typically run 90 minutes. I want to understand the energy you're going for — not just the do-not-play list. I coordinate with your string quartet if you have one. I can bring a saxophonist who plays over recorded tracks for cocktail hour.
